SITC International Holdings anticipates a profit of $1.2 billion for FY2025, driven by increased shipping volumes and improved freight rates.
Containership operator SITC International Holdings has issued a profit alert, stating it expects earnings of approximately US$1.2 billion for the year ending December 31, 2025, as reported by Melbourne's Baird Maritime.
The company indicated that the unaudited profit attributable to shareholders is expected to range between US$1.2 billion and US$1.23 billion, representing an increase of 16 to 18.9 percent compared to 2024.
SITC reported container shipping volume of about 3.85 million TEU in 2025, which is a 7.8 percent increase from the previous year. Average freight rates, excluding slot exchange, rose by 4.4 percent to US$753 per TEU.
The company attributed the rise in profit to stable expansion in the Asian market, which drove higher shipping volumes, as well as strategic positioning that improved freight rates.
SITC noted that these figures are based on preliminary unaudited financial information, with final results expected to be published in March 2026.
