The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a 23-year-old man who fell early Wednesday (March 22) from the Carnival Victory ship as it sailed near Cuba. The Coast Guard 7th District Southeast in Miami said in a news release it suspended the search for Brandon Paul of Floral City, Fla. at 7:31 p.m. Thursday. The 16-hour search covered more than 3,460 square miles of water. Authorities said Paul fell from the eight deck of the Carnival Victory ship at 3 a.m. Wednesday roughly 33 miles northwest of Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. The ship was sailing from Key West to Cozumel, Mexico.
