The 15th Jimmy Key Universal Sailing Races will be held on April 25-26 off the coast of Urla. Young sailors from various universities in Turkey will face each other in a two-day competition in the winds of the Aegean Sea. The organization is carried out in collaboration with the Urla Sailing Community, Urla Yacht Club, and Jimmy Key.
The Jimmy Key Universal Sailing Races, eagerly awaited each year by university sailors, is preparing to bring together sea enthusiasts for the 15th time this year. The event, taking place on April 25-26 off the coast of Urla, will unite university teams from all over Turkey with the winds of the Aegean.
Opportunity for Universities to Compete with Multiple Teams
With the collaboration of the Urla Sailing Community (URİYAT) and Urla Yacht Club, and under the main sponsorship of Jimmy Key, a large number of teams from different universities are expected to participate in the 15th Jimmy Key Universal Sailing Races. The event, which hosts over 300 athletes each year, sees approximately 250 of the participants being university students. All boats participating in the races must include university teams, and boats that do not meet this criterion are not included in the organization. The event features a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 50 boats competing, with some universities being able to represent themselves with multiple teams in the races.
The growing organization has become an important tradition that brings university athletes together in a maritime culture, team spirit, and competitive atmosphere.
