    Ten sailors are missing after the M/V TUĞBERK İMAMOĞLU sank in a collision with the M/T ALSU in the Sea of Marmara on September 2.

    On the morning of September 2nd, a collision occurred between the Turkish-flagged bulk carrier M/V TUĞBERK İMAMOĞLU and the tanker M/T ALSU in the Sea of Marmara.

    The TUĞBERK İMAMOĞLU, which was reported to be en route from İskenderun to Karadeniz Ereğli, sank shortly after the collision.

    Search and Rescue Operations Continue

    Following the accident, search and rescue operations initiated by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, the Coast Guard Command, and relevant units are ongoing intensively. In a company statement, it was emphasized that the top priority is to reach the 10 sailors on board the ship as soon as possible, while the anxious wait of the families continues, and all available resources are being mobilized. The exact causes of the accident and the liability of the parties involved will become clear after the examination of the Voyage Data Recorder (VDR), Automatic Identification System (AIS), radio records, and navigation data by the competent authorities, as well as the completion of judicial-administrative investigations. Authorities have strongly reminded that unverified information should not be trusted for the integrity of the investigation.

    Identities of the 10 Missing Sailors in the Sea of Marmara Incident Revealed

    Meanwhile, as the search and rescue operations to reach the crew of the Turkish-flagged M/V TUĞBERK İMAMOĞLU, which sank after colliding with the tanker M/T ALSU, continue uninterrupted in the Sea of Marmara, the names of the 10 missing sailors have been clarified.

    Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety and the Coast Guard Command teams, search efforts both at sea and underwater are proceeding at full speed, and the list of identities of the missing sailors who were on board the ship and have not yet been reached is as follows:
