During the eastbound transit of the Kiel Canal the 'Noordvliet' sufferd a rudder failure on Sep 26, 2018, at 5 p.m. at canal km 31. The ship managed to reach Fischerhütte manoevering only with its bow thrusters and moored in the switch for repairs by the crew. The ship which was enroute from Ceuta to Tornio then resumed the voyage and passed the canal locks in Holtenau towards the Baltic Sea at 11.40 p.m., ETA Tornio Sep 30.
