Chairman Yusuf Öztürk announces no public staff will remain at İzmir Alsancak Port as preparations for privatization continue.

During the regular meeting of the İMAK DTO İzmir Branch in March, the Chairman of the Board, Yusuf Öztürk, made significant statements regarding the İzmir Alsancak Port.

Öztürk stated, 'The companies being discussed are experienced and operate cruise ports. We would say there are 17 operational staff, and there are 370 people working in civil servant status behind the scenes. Preparations are being made for their transfer to other organizations. Discussions are ongoing for the return of port workers who have retired under the EYT (Early Retirement Age) law. No public personnel will remain at the port.'

Referring to the cruise section that will be departing from Alsancak Port, Öztürk also shared information about the port employees, saying, 'It is stated that a tender will be held for the cruise section of the port. The companies being discussed are experienced and operate cruise ports. We would say there are 17 operational staff, and there are 370 people working in civil servant status behind the scenes. Preparations are being made for their transfer to other organizations. Discussions are ongoing for the return of port workers who have retired under the EYT law. No public personnel will remain at the port. This port will continue under the management of the Sovereign Wealth Fund. We do not know what kind of working model will be implemented afterward. Some of our members have provided machinery supply in the machinery park; I do not know how they will continue.'
