LATAM Cargo partners with Quick Cargo Service to use SAF on flights from Frankfurt to Sao Paulo in the 2025-2026 winter season.
LATAM Cargo and Quick Cargo Service have agreed to use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on flights between Frankfurt and Sao Paulo during the 2025-2026 winter season, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The partnership will utilize 24,000 litres of SAF, with environmental attributes credited to Quick Cargo Service under the book and claim model. The companies stated that lifecycle emissions would be reduced by about 55.8 tonnes of CO2e, including 46 tonnes of flight-related emissions, which is equal to nearly seven percent of the operation's total emissions.
LATAM Cargo's Vice President of Sustainability and Product, Cristina Oñate, remarked that the agreement demonstrates that decarbonization is a shared commitment across the logistics chain. Quick Cargo Service Executive Patrick Eberhard added that collaboration across the air cargo sector is vital to reducing emissions.
The SAF is produced from alternative feedstocks such as animal fats. LATAM Cargo indicated that the deal is part of its broader strategy to integrate climate management tools into customer operations.
In March, LATAM announced another SAF partnership for salmon shipments between Chile and the US, underscoring its push to expand sustainable fuel use across its network.
