Large scale fire alert due to smoke development in engine room

The KNRM rescue station Hoek van Holland was arelrted on July 22, 2017, around 1 p.m. for a fire aboard the "Maersk Kokura" in the Europe Port of Rotterdam. 12 minutes later, the KNRM lifeboat "Jeanine Parqui" went alongside the container ship which had started unloading containers after its arrival on July 21 at 6.45 p.m.. The fire in the engine room was already under control. As it turned out, due to smoke from the engine room a large scale alert had been issued, but only oily cloths were smouldering and burning because they were too close to a hot engine which, ohever, caused enormous smoke development. The boxship left Rotterdam again the same day at 4.40 p.m. and dropped anchor off the Weser on July 23 at 11.15 p.m. waiting to enter the port of Bremerhaven.
