On 21 September, Kuehne+Nagel officially announced the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership with Amazon, marking a significant milestone within the company's ongoing strategic growth programme.
Building on a well-established foundation of existing collaboration between the two organisations, the partnership encompasses a broad scope of engagement across Amazon Web Services, spanning the full infrastructure lifecycle - from construction and equipment deployment through to continuous maintenance, upgrades, and project expansion.
Kuehne+Nagel Chief Executive Officer Stefan Paul described the agreement as a pivotal step forward, noting that the company is pleased to deepen its long-term relationship with Amazon with a shared focus on scale, innovation, and customer value. He stated that Kuehne+Nagel's global network, digital capabilities, and supply chain expertise position the company to support Amazon's evolving operational requirements, accelerate future growth opportunities, and deliver enduring value to customers. Paul further emphasised that together, the two organisations are laying new foundations for Amazon's commitment to customer service on a global scale.
The partnership is underpinned by existing Kuehne+Nagel stock warrants, settleable in cash or, at Amazon's election, in equity, with vesting subject to commercial milestones and service performance benchmarks over a period of up to seven years.
Jyske Bank analyst Haider Anjum offered a direct assessment of the agreement's strategic significance: "Securing a partnership with the largest player in this space is clearly a strategic win for Kuehne+Nagel."
