Iran's Revolutionary Guard closes the Strait of Hormuz due to foreign interference, halting all maritime traffic until further notice.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed 'until further notice due to the unstable security situation caused by foreign intervention.'
In a statement made by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Naval Forces, it was claimed that foreign intervention and vessels attempting to navigate on 'unauthorized routes' have led to security issues in the Strait of Hormuz.
It was noted that warnings had previously been issued against foreign interventions and the unauthorized determination of vessel routes. The statement expressed that several vessels had disregarded these warnings and attempted to proceed on 'unauthorized routes' just a few hours ago.
It was reported that one of the vessels, which allegedly did not change its course despite the warnings and posed a threat to maritime security, was halted by warning shots from the Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy. It was stated, 'As a result of this incident and the unstable security situation arising from illegal foreign intervention, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice.'
The statement emphasized that no vessels would be granted passage until American interventions in the Strait of Hormuz region cease. It included the remark, 'Countries that allow the American-Zionist enemy to enter their territories will be held responsible for the consequences of this intervention.'
