Sanmar's latest tugs, GARGANO and PORTOSALVO, showcase advanced eco-friendly technology, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs.

The latest examples of the Boğaçay series, GARGANO and PORTOSALVO, are recognized as the most environmentally friendly versions produced to date, thanks to continuously evolving technologies and innovations. Their green identity is reinforced by high-standard machinery automation that maximizes efficiency and Tier III compliant main engines.

Additionally, the optimized hull-propeller-engine configuration allows these tugs to achieve key performance parameters such as bollard pull and speed with lower installed power and fuel consumption. This results in significant advantages regarding both environmental impact and operational expenses (OPEX).

Technical Specifications: Each of the sister tugs measures 24.4 meters in length, 12 meters in mold width, with a minimum mold depth of 4.5 meters and an approximate navigation draft of 5.45 meters. They can achieve a bollard pull of over 70 tons and a free sailing speed of 12.5 knots.

Rimorchitori Napoletani, with origins dating back to serving sailing ships at the Port of Naples in the late 19th century, continues to modernize its fleet with Sanmar’s technologically advanced and market-leading tugs. GARGANO and PORTOSALVO are the seventh and eighth tugs built by Sanmar for the Italian operator as part of a successful partnership that began in 2017.

Rüçhan Çıvgın, Commercial Director of Sanmar Shipyards, who attended the ceremony in Naples, remarked:

"I was very pleased to be present at the ceremony. Rimorchitori Napoletani is not only a company with a deep-rooted and proud history but also an esteemed company that faces the modern challenges of today.

These latest Boğaçay Class tugs offer operators the possibility of low-emission and low-environmental-impact operations that seemed impossible to achieve just a few years ago. When you add unique performance, versatility, and efficiency to this, you can clearly see why these vessels are our best-selling models."
