GMO invites primary school students to its annual painting competition on April 23, fostering creativity and interest in maritime themes.

The Chamber of Ship Engineers (GMO) of TMMOB is organizing its traditional painting competition this year as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

The competition, held annually for elementary school students, aims to increase children's interest in maritime, ships, and engineering themes while supporting their creativity.

The competition will be open to elementary school students. Students in the 1st and 2nd grades will be evaluated in the first category, while students in the 3rd and 4th grades will be assessed in the second category.

Participants will be able to submit their paintings prepared within the framework of the designated theme through the online application system.

Applications will be made via the application form available on the official website of the Chamber of Ship Engineers. The deadline for applications has been announced as April 17, 2026. Following the evaluation process, the winning students and the works deemed worthy of exhibition will be announced.

Various prizes will be awarded to students who place in both categories of the competition. Among the prizes are tablets, remote-controlled ships, and ship-themed Lego sets, while those who receive honorable mentions and whose works are deemed worthy of exhibition will also receive gift packages.

Additionally, there are plans to exhibit the selected works.

Officials from the TMMOB Chamber of Ship Engineers invited all elementary school students to participate in the competition, which combines the excitement of April 23 with art, stating that the event aims not only to develop children's imagination but also to spark early interest in the profession of maritime and ship engineering.
