Hermann Lohmann Bereederung sells last feeder ships to Lila Global, fully exiting container shipping to focus on multipurpose vessels.
Hermann Lohmann Bereederung has sold its last two feeder containerships to Dubai-based Lila Global, marking its complete exit from the container shipping market, reports California's iMarine, citing Alphaliner.
The vessels involved are the Marina L and Theodor, sister ships of the same class with a 1,368 TEU capacity and built to ice-class standards. The Marina L is chartered by CMA CGM on Mediterranean routes through late 2026, while the Theodor is operated by X-Press Feeders on Americas services under a similar charter.
Both ships feature the Weihai 1300 design. The Marina L was delivered in 2009 under the name OM Lenitatis, while the Theodor was built in 2006 as Langeness.
Over the past 18 months, Hermann Lohmann Bereederung has sold all its containerships, including the Victoria L, Alexander L, and Astrid L. The company will now focus on multipurpose vessels.
Public records show the firm has managed ocean-going vessels since 1998. Its current fleet comprises 28 multipurpose ships with capacities ranging from 3,746 to 8,101 deadweight tons.
