Ferry in collision with motor yaacht

On Oct 3, 2017, around 10.30 a.m. the "Capri Jet" was in collision with a yacht in the Gulf of Naples, a few miles from the mouth of Molo Beverello. the ferry had sailed from Capri at 9.35 a.m. and headed to Naples, when a Pershing motoryacht navigating in the opposite direction slammed into the ferry. The impact was violent, both units reported damage. Rescue operations were in progress.The captain of the ferry asked the spassengers to wear life jackets, fearing the hydrofoil, which was damaged at the port side bow, could take on water. There were about 100 passsengers on board. Shortly after the accident, the Italian coastguard arrived with a doctor. There were, however, no reported injuries. At 11.30 a.m. the hydrofoil berthed at Naples port.
