The EBI's 2026 General Assembly in Istanbul will focus on sustainable boating practices from June 8-10, hosted by Turkey's YATED.
The European Boating Industry (EBI) has officially announced that it will hold its 2026 General Assembly Meeting in Istanbul from June 8 to 10. The Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) will host the meeting on behalf of Turkey.
This gathering, held twice a year, is among the most comprehensive events in the sector regarding sustainable boating and marine tourism. Important agenda items such as eco-friendly production, energy efficiency, reduction of carbon emissions, and policies for sustainable marine tourism will be discussed at the meeting in Istanbul.
The previous General Assembly Meeting of EBI was held on January 20, 2026, in Düsseldorf, Germany, where the association's strategic priorities and the 2025-2028 period strategy were shared with the members.
Murat Bekiroğlu, Chairman of the Board of YATED, emphasized that the event in Istanbul is of great importance for promoting the Turkish yacht and boat industry on the international stage and for spreading sustainable maritime practices. He also stated that the meeting would create an opportunity to showcase Turkey's production power in the maritime sector.
This decision reinforces Turkey's rising role in the yacht and boat industry and its influence within the international boating community.
