Athens-based Erasmus Shipinvest Group has ordered two 1,800TEU feeder container vessels at the CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Wenchong shipyard in China, reported Athens Today. The deal includes options for further ships as the Greek owner expands its fleet.
The contract was signed in April 2026 and reflects the continued strength in the container shipping market, with owners seeking to add capacity to meet demand. Feeder vessels play a key role in regional and short-sea trade networks, supporting global supply chains.
Erasmus Shipinvest, led by John Su, has contracted two firm 1,800TEU feeder ships at the CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Wenchong yard. Options for additional vessels are included, allowing the company to grow its boxship fleet further.
