Diana Shipping signs a time charter with NYK for Phaidra, boosting daily earnings to $14,500, enhancing its revenue outlook through 2027.
Diana Shipping has signed a time charter contract with Japan's NYK for the Post-Panamax bulk carrier Phaidra, reports Melbourne's Baird Maritime.
The vessel is scheduled to begin its new employment on February 24. The agreement sets a gross charter rate of US$14,500 per day, which includes a five percent commission to third parties.
The charter runs until at least February 20, 2027, with a possible extension to April 20, 2027. Diana Shipping stated that the deal is expected to generate approximately $5.18 million in gross revenue based on the minimum period.
Built in 2013, the 87,146 DWT Phaidra is currently on a separate charter earning $9,750 per day after commission. The new contract represents a significant increase in daily earnings.
Diana Shipping operates a fleet of 36 dry bulk vessels with a combined carrying capacity of around 4.1 million DWT. The company indicated that the latest agreement strengthens its long-term employment profile.
