DEFAV's General Assembly showcased new trustees and announced the 'Seafarer's House' project, led by Capt. Koray Karagöz.
The General Assembly of the ITU Maritime Faculty (YDO) Alumni Social Assistance Foundation (DEFAV) was held with the active participation of trustees and heads of civil society organizations.
In his speech at the meeting, Foundation Board Chairman Capt. Koray Karagöz shared the activities carried out in 2024 and 2025 with the participants. Karagöz also conveyed the goals for the upcoming period and announced that the foundation would implement the 'Seafarer's House' project.
New Trustees Accepted
During the general assembly, Harun Çalışkan, Savaş Çakmak, Ali Kuray, Utku Türedi, Salih Bilal, Orhan Bektaş, and Özgecan Albayrak were accepted as new trustees of the foundation.
Additionally, a plaque was presented to Engineer A. İlker Meşe for his services, who has served three terms as president and one term as a board member.
New Management Determined
As a result of the voting, the new management of DEFAV was formed as follows:
Board Chairman: Capt. Koray Karagöz
Board Members: Engineer Adnan Erdal, Capt. Tayfun Sözer, Capt. Coşkun Ağca, Capt. Kazım Bakan, Engineer Elif Karaman Sümer, Capt. Caner Aydın
Alternate Board Members: Engineer Nuri Mert Can, Engineer Utku Türedi, Capt. Tarkan Karakaya, Capt. Harun Çalışkan, Capt. Numan Eşiyok
Audit Board Members: Engineer Mesut Cesur, Capt. Cengiz Karabüber, Engineer Asım İlker Meşe
The general assembly concluded after sharing well wishes for the new term's activities.
