During the event, Serra Tükel, Sustainability Director of Arkas Maritime Group, highlighted the importance of alternative fuels, regulatory infrastructure, and inter-sectoral cooperation for low-carbon transportation in the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean Decarbonisation Meetings, which brought together representatives from the public, private sector, and finance world of 11 countries in the Mediterranean, were held in Marseille. Organized by the headquarters of Business France, the event addressed collaborations, investment opportunities, and innovative solutions for the region's low-carbon future.

As one of the gold sponsors of the event, Arkas Line, with its deep maritime experience and historical ties to the Mediterranean, shared its efforts towards sustainable transportation solutions and energy transformation with participants throughout the event.

As part of the event, Serra Tükel, Sustainability Director of Arkas Maritime Group, participated as a speaker in the panel titled 'Low-Carbon Transportation and Logistics: Solutions for Reducing Emissions.' The panel discussed practices aimed at decarbonizing maritime transportation and logistics activities in the Mediterranean region, the promotion of alternative fuels, the importance of inter-sectoral collaborations, and regulatory frameworks. In her speech, Tükel conveyed Arkas Line's efforts towards energy transformation as one of the pioneering companies in Turkey for the use of biofuels, emphasizing the necessity of developing regulatory infrastructure for the widespread adoption of biofuels.

Tükel also stressed that ports, fuel producers, cargo owners, and public authorities must share common responsibilities in the decarbonization of maritime transportation.

With its extensive maritime experience and strong operational network in the Mediterranean, Arkas Line is among the key stakeholders in the region's low-carbon maritime transportation transformation with its sustainability-focused approach.

The company continues its efforts to reduce the environmental impact of maritime transportation through alternative fuel applications, emission reduction initiatives, and industry collaborations, while contributing to the Mediterranean's low-carbon transformation.
