CMA CGM introduces integrated automotive logistics solutions, enhancing delivery coordination and market reach for manufacturers and suppliers.
CMA CGM has outlined its integrated automotive logistics solutions, which combine maritime transport, inland connections, and automotive sector expertise. The offer helps vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers coordinate deliveries, adjust shipping plans, and serve markets worldwide.
For automotive businesses, logistics performance directly supports production continuity and vehicle availability. The CMA CGM offer covers the full automotive flow, from inbound components and finished vehicle shipments to warehousing, distribution, aftermarket operations, and emissions reduction. Each stage is positioned as part of a single, connected logistics plan.
Keeping assembly lines supplied starts with aligning transport to manufacturing requirements. CMA CGM uses its global network, routing options, and contingency planning to help customers organize inbound component flows around production schedules.
The approach also strengthens responses to supply chain disruptions, a persistent risk for manufacturers that depend on parts arriving on time from multiple sourcing regions. According to the company, the objective is to reduce the risk of transport delays affecting factory operations.
At the same time, the model preserves flexibility as sourcing needs evolve. That balance matters to cargo owners managing high volumes across multiple suppliers, as well as to the forwarders who coordinate those flows on their behalf.
For finished vehicles, CMA CGM provides two complementary shipping options: roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) and Car in Container. RoRo vessels allow vehicles to be driven directly on and off the ship.
Car in Container allows vehicles to travel inside standard shipping containers without dismantling. This reduces preparation time and lowers handling risks, two factors that directly affect the condition and value of vehicles on arrival.
The container format is also compatible with sea, rail, and road transport. This multimodal capability helps customers organize vehicle movements from origin to destination around their specific distribution requirements, extending reach beyond port-to-port service. Together, the two options give automotive shippers more choice in matching transport mode to volume, destination, and delivery timelines.
