FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has announced Freight All Kinds (FAK) rate increases from August 15 but not beyond August 31 on shipments from Asia to the Mediterranean and African ports. The rate increase from September from Asia to all South African ports is US$300 per TEU and $600 per FEU.
The new rate from Asia to the West Med is US$1,100 per TEU, $2,000 per FEU, $2,050 per FEU high cube and $2,050 per FEU reefer.
The new rate from Asia to the Adriatic is $1,100 per TEU, $2,000 per FEU, $2,050 per FEU high cube and $2,050 per FEU reefer.
The new rate from Asia to the Black Sea is $1,500 per TEU, $2,100 per FEU, $2,100 per FEU high cube and $2,100 per FEU reefer.
The new rate from Asia to the East Med is $1,500 per TEU is $2,100 per FEU, $2,100 per FEU high cube and $2,100 per FEU reefer.
The new rate from Asia to Syria is $1,500 per TEU is $2,100 per FEU, $2,100 per FEU high cube and $2,100 per FEU reefer.
The new rate from Asia to Algeria is $2,000 per TEU, $3,800 per FEU and $3,875 per FEU high cube.
The new rate from Asia to Tunisia is $1,900 per TEU, $3,600 per FEU and $3,675 per FEU high cube.
The new rate from Asia to Libya is $1,750 per TEU, $3,300 per FEU and $3,375 per FEU high cube.

These rates include the basic freight and the bunker surcharge. The new rate subject to other bunker-related surcharges, the THC (origin and destination), the peak season charges and similar charges, the safety and security-related surcharges that are accessible at http://www.cma-cgm.com/ebusiness/tariffs/charge-finder. Other charges such as Contingency charges and local charges may also apply.
