Ciner Maritime has officially laid the keel for its ninth vessel in the 40,500 DWT bulk carrier series at Jiangmen Nanyang Shipyard in China. The keel-laying ceremony marks a significant milestone in the construction process, which is progressing according to schedule.
This new vessel, designated with the project code 'JNS 221,' is an important addition to Ciner Maritime's modern and environmentally friendly fleet renewal program. With an approximate length of 179.9 meters and a width of 30 meters, the vessel is designed to achieve high operational efficiency in the medium-sized bulk cargo transportation segment.
The eighth vessel in the series, ROCHESTER, was delivered ahead of schedule, while the vessel named LIVERPOOL joined the fleet in January of this year. The keel laying of the ninth vessel further underscores the company's commitment to enhancing its fleet.
Ciner Maritime aims to strengthen its fleet's capacity and technical capabilities through this series of projects conducted in Chinese shipyards. The new vessels are expected to significantly contribute to the company's global bulk cargo transportation activities, thanks to their designs that prioritize fuel efficiency and operational flexibility.
As part of the company's ongoing order program, the remaining vessels in the series are planned for gradual construction and delivery in the near future.
