In 2025, China's ports excelled globally, with seven hubs in the top 10, according to a World Bank and S&P Global study reported by South China Morning Post.

China's ports dominated global efficiency rankings in 2025, with seven trade hubs placing in the top 10, reported Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, citing a World Bank and an S&P Global study.

The Container Port Performance Index, launched in 2020, measures efficiency at more than 400 ports worldwide by tracking average vessel turnaround times. Longer processing times are seen as indicators of delays and supply chain bottlenecks.

Fuzhou in Fujian province ranked first globally, followed by Dalian in northeastern China. Oman's Salalah port took third place, while Hong Kong was ninth. China's strong showing underscored its continued dominance in global port operations.
