Cathay Cargo's upgraded Manage Booking system empowers freight forwarders to modify cargo bookings directly, streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency.
Cathay Cargo has upgraded its online Manage Booking system to allow freight forwarders to modify cargo bookings directly, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The upgrade gives forwarders control over changes such as shipper or consignee details, flight and date adjustments, and shipment size modifications. The airline stated that this addresses a long-standing industry challenge by reducing reliance on phone calls and manual workflows.
More complex requests will continue to be handled by Cathay Cargo specialists. The system also provides real-time updates on a single dashboard, showing how proposed changes affect booking status and costs before confirmation.
Users gain a complete audit trail of modifications, supported by automated email notifications. Dominic Perret, Cathay's cargo director, mentioned that the launch reflects the carrier's commitment to customer-centric digitalization.
Cathay has invested heavily in digital capability. In 2025, it pioneered real-time customs clearance updates through its EzyCargo platform and ONE Record API links, providing status updates from authorities in Europe, the US, Canada, and the UAE.
