Cathay Cargo's November volumes rose 10%, fueled by strong exports from Hong Kong and China, according to Air Cargo News.
Cathay Cargo reported a 10% year-on-year increase in November volumes, driven by strong exports from Hong Kong and China, along with growth across global routes, as reported by London's Air Cargo News.
During the month, the airline transported 157,472 kg of cargo, with capacity increasing by 7%. Revenue Freight Tonne Kilometres rose by 7.5%, and the cargo load factor improved by 0.5 points to reach 62.8%.
Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau noted that growth was supported by demand from Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Specialist products such as Cathay Priority, Cathay Expert, and Cathay Fresh also performed strongly.
In the first 11 months of 2025, Cathay Cargo's total tonnage increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2024. Lau indicated that the airline is experiencing a robust cargo peak, which is expected to continue into December.
New Cargo Director Dominic Perret described the peak season as stronger than anticipated, though not exceptional. Lau mentioned that Cathay would scale back its peak-season freighter schedule from mid-December as demand eases, but core trade lane volumes are expected to remain firm.
