Boluda France’s 90tbp tug 'Boluda Fos' has delivered the first concrete caisson to Monaco, part of the principality’s €2bn extension project that will see 60,000m2 of new land added to accommodate the demands of an increasing population. The caisson is the first of 18 to be delivered from Marseille to Monaco, a project for which the VB Fos was specifically mobilised for client Eiffage Genie Civil Marine following an international tender. VB Fos was built at Kanagawa Dockyard in 2008 as Iwaki Maru and has had a number of subsequent names and operators including Kestrel for JP Knight before passing into the hands of Boluda.
