AVS Meets at the Iftar Table for the Third Time with Vefa Kıraathanesi
AVS Global Ship Supply & Catering held its third traditional iftar program this year as part of its social responsibility projects, bringing together elderly citizens at the same table. The event, organized specifically for the members of Vefa Kıraathanesi in collaboration with Pendik Municipality, took place at the Pendik Youth Camp.
Approximately 250 guests attended the iftar program, where they were welcomed with a menu carefully prepared by the experienced chefs of AVS Catering. The organization, supported by AVS volunteer employees, offered warm hospitality to the guests, while heartfelt conversations and enjoyable moments were shared throughout the evening.
During the night, Pendik Deputy Mayor Ahmet Emil, Pendik Social Services Director Ümit Ay, and Vefa Kıraathanesi Chief Nazan Kangal presented a meaningful gift to AVS Chairman Abdülvahit Şimşek and his wife Hülya Şimşek in recognition of their contributions to the organization. This special moment added a unique significance to the night and became one of the most notable highlights of the event.
Established by Pendik Municipality to support individuals aged 65 and over in leading active and healthy lives, Vefa Kıraathanesi operates as an important social support center, offering hundreds of its members various services such as occupational therapy, hobby activities, social events, personal care services, counseling, and periodic health check-ups.
In line with its understanding of social responsibility, AVS continues to support projects that touch different segments of society. This iftar organization, held for the third time with Vefa Kıraathanesi, served as a meaningful gathering and a strong demonstration of solidarity and loyalty.
