Çamburnu Shipyard in Trabzon is constructing a 141-meter bulk carrier, marking its first major project while also offering repair services for foreign vessels.

The Çamburnu Shipyard in the Sürmene district of Trabzon not only has the capacity for the construction of all types of vessels but also provides maintenance and repair services for ships coming from abroad. Currently, a bulk carrier under construction at the shipyard measures 141 meters in length and has a capacity of 10,700 tons. Officials stated that this ship is the first major project of the shipyard.

In addition to new shipbuilding, the shipyard focuses on maintenance and repair services, supporting vessels from countries bordering the Black Sea. Officials expressed that all types of repair work are carried out at the shipyard and that the capacity is continuously being increased.

While emphasizing that the design of the ongoing bulk carrier is flat-bottomed, it was reported that this feature provides ease of use in both rivers and various waterways. Seyfettin Çakır, Administrative Coordinator of Trabzon Shipyard, noted that they are open to all types of ship orders and that they have reached a similar level to the shipyards in Tuzla and Yalova. Çakır also added that they aim to expand their operational area in the coming years.

Çakır stated, 'We are manufacturing a 141-meter-long, 10,700-ton bulk carrier. This is our first project. Our second project is our 175-meter dock. Both the dock and the bulk carrier are among our initial projects. At the same time, we are also carrying out repair work in addition to new shipbuilding. Ships coming from countries bordering the Black Sea come to our shipyard for maintenance.'

Ilyas Murtezaoğlu, Deputy General Manager of Trabzon Shipyard, indicated that foreign-flagged vessels come to the shipyard for maintenance. Murtezaoğlu stated, 'A 185-meter bulk carrier came to our shipyard due to damage to its rudder and hull. The operations on the vessel will be completed in the coming days, and it will continue its voyage. Our shipyard can construct and perform maintenance on all types of vessels up to 150-180 meters in length.'
