Şadan Kaptanoğlu, who announced his candidacy for the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors ahead of the upcoming elections at the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping, stated that the sector and the world are undergoing a rapid transformation process, emphasizing that the Chamber of Shipping should lead this change.

Speaking at the Assembly meeting, Kaptanoğlu expressed his happiness in once again declaring his candidacy in the presence of assembly members, industry representatives, and members of the press.

Kaptanoğlu noted that he respects the contributions of all the presidents who have served the Chamber of Shipping to date and highlighted the importance of preserving institutional knowledge and carrying it into the future.

'I respectfully embrace the accumulation of all our presidents who have contributed to our chamber so far, and I thank them for their contributions and services. We will grow, build upon this, and move forward in unity,' said Kaptanoğlu, emphasizing the need for the sector to unite around common goals.

'We Either Manage the Transformation or Fall Behind It'

Pointing out the global changes occurring in the maritime sector, Kaptanoğlu stated that one of the most important issues in the upcoming period will be managing the transformation correctly.

'Our chamber either manages this transformation or falls behind it. Therefore, I believe there is a need for a new direction,' Kaptanoğlu expressed, stating that the Chamber of Shipping needs to become a structure that produces more value for its members, becoming more effective and results-oriented.

'More Results, More Impact'

Kaptanoğlu noted that their goal in the new term is to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish shipping in both national and international arenas, saying, 'The goal of our chamber should be to achieve more results and produce more impact. I believe that with common sense and a spirit of solidarity, we will do our best for Turkish shipping.'
