Iran reports 26 vessels, including oil tankers, passed through the Strait of Hormuz under military coordination in the last 24 hours.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy Command provided information regarding transit through the Strait of Hormuz in a post made on the social media platform by the US-based X company.
In the last 24 hours, it was reported that 26 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and commercial vessels, passed through the Strait of Hormuz under the observation and coordination of the Iranian armed forces.
Iranian state television also announced that five supertankers had received permission from the Iranian military to transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
"IRAN WILL NOT SURRENDER"
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf stated that the "enemy's" overt and covert maneuvers indicate they are seeking a new round of war.
Qalibaf noted that the military forces have made the best use of the ceasefire opportunity to rebuild their strength, asserting that the increasing economic pressure and blockade will not force Iran to surrender.
IRAN'S CLOSURE OF THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ AND THE US NAVAL BLOCKADE
Iran had closed the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic transit point for global energy, following the joint attacks by the US and Israel that began on February 28. This decision led to an increase in oil prices by up to 65% compared to pre-war levels.
After a ceasefire agreement reached between the US and Iran on April 8, negotiations mediated by Pakistan yielded no results, prompting US President Donald Trump to decide on April 13 to impose a naval blockade on Iran and to begin intervening with Iranian-linked vessels entering and exiting the Strait of Hormuz.
On April 17, following the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon, Iran announced that it would allow the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, provided they were coordinated with the Iranian Navy during the ceasefire. However, after the US announced it would continue its naval blockade, Iran stated that it had re-imposed restrictions on transits through the strait.
During this process, the US attacked and seized some commercial vessels belonging to Iran in the Oman Sea and the Indian Ocean, to which Iran responded by intervening and seizing some vessels connected to Israel near the Strait of Hormuz.
