The 10,700-TEU APL Southampton sustained an engine room accident when sailing south of San Francisco from Los Angeles to Oakland, injuring a chief engineer and an oiler, reports Kiev's Maritime Bulletin, which specialises in marine casualties.

The ship reduced speed, made a loop, and resumed sailing towards San Francisco later on April 8 after the incident.

The Singapore-flagged ship anchored at San Francisco Anchorage on April 8, but there is no news yet on the injured crew or accident itself.
