UKRAINE's antonov Airlines now based in Leipzig, has completed three AN-124-100 flights to transport 200 tonnes of gear for power plant generator from Slovenia to Nigeria, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The cargo, which included generator, turbine and additional equipment, weighed about 200 tonnes and was transported from Ljubljana in Slovenia to Kano, Nigeria.
Working with Chapman Freeborn Germany, Antonov commercial officer Eugene Kiva said: 'The entire Antonov team, from commercial to operational, route planning, and load planning, worked closely with our client and agents to ensure the safe delivery of this important cargo, which will support energy needs in Kano.'
The carrier has been much affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine but continues to fly worldwide, prioritising flights for the Ukrainian government, the Strategic Airlift International Solution (SALIS), and humanitarian missions using its five AN-124-100s.
Said company acting director general Ievgen Gavrylov: 'We continue to operate despite the challenges we have faced after the Russian invasion and the damage they caused to our Gostomel home base and some of our aircraft.
