ALL Nippon Airways (ANA) is set to introduce three new European routes later this year, along with the expansion or resumption of frequencies on existing services, driven by robust demand for inbound travel to Japan, reports New York's Aviation Week.
The Japanese carrier plans to initiate flights from Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND) to Istanbul, Milan, and Stockholm.
Originally scheduled to join the airline's network in 2020, the launch of these destinations was postponed due to the pandemic.
Although ana has not confirmed the specific start date or frequencies for the new European routes, it indicates that flights to these cities will commence during the northern winter 2024-25 season.
Additionally, ANA intends to resume seasonal operations, operating thrice weekly from HND to Vienna starting from August 2, marking the first time since May 2022.
Furthermore, the airline aims to increase frequencies to Munich Airport (MUC) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
MUC and CDG flights will transition daily from July 1 to the current 4X-weekly and 3X-weekly schedules, respectively.
'The core of our growth in the next fiscal year will be our international flight business. We will firmly resume the international routes that were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic and inaugurate flights to new destinations to allow for more and new customers to experience the ANA Group,' said ANA CEO Koji Shibata.
