MARK Galardo has been promoted to executive vice president (EVP) & chief commercial officer and president, cargo at air Canada.
He has worked at Air Canada for 21 years and has spent the last two years as executive vice president, revenue & network planning and president, cargo at the airline.
Before that, he was senior vice president network planning and revenue management, reports London's Air Cargo News.
In addition to his new role, Mr Galardo will also be responsible for marketing, leading the design and development of the Air Canada brand.
The appointment will be effective from May 1.
In addition to Mr Galardo, Craig Landry, previously executive vice president and chief operations officer, has been appointed executive vice president & chief innovation officer and president of Aeroplan.
Mark Nasr, previously executive vice president, marketing & digital and president, Aeroplan, has been appointed executive vice president & chief operations officer.
The changes are designed to optimise cross-functional capabilities within the senior executive team.
Air Canada president and chief executive Michael Rousseau said: ''These changes will reinforce our management structure by promoting cross-functional capabilities among our senior executives, adding to the resiliency of our already very strong senior leadership team.'
