THE UK's largest and leading ports operator, Associated British Ports (ABP), has announced the appointment of Andrew Dawes as the new Regional Director for Humber, succeeding Simon Bird, who will be leaving abp at the end of October.
In his new role, Mr Dawes will join the executive team and report directly to ABP's CEO, Henrik L Pedersen, reports Greece's Container News.
Mr Dawes' career began at the Southampton Container Terminal, and he has since developed into a seasoned maritime executive with nearly 30 years of experience in the global ports and terminals industry. He has worked with leading companies such as DP World, APM Terminals, and ICTSI.
In addition to his strong leadership skills, Mr Dawes brings extensive expertise in safety, operations, and commercial activities. His experience also includes holding managing director roles with P&L accountability for terminals, as well as overseeing broader regional portfolios.

He will start his role at ABP on October 1, 2024.
