ZHUHAI International Container Terminals (Gaolan), a member of the Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) Group, has welcomed the inaugural call of Wan Hai Lines' MV Wan Hai 313 on the first direct liner service from Zhuhai to Japan.
The New Super 3 (NS3) service provides a direct gateway for those exporting cargo through ZICT(G) to the Kanto and Kansai areas of Japan.
Terminal general manager Ronald Wan said the terminal creates a logistics solution for shippers in the western Pearl River Delta and surrounding regions. "Wan Hai Lines' NS3 service allows cargo to ship from Zhuhai to Japan directly. Customers can also import goods directly from Singapore and Malaysia to Zhuhai."
The vessel is part of NS3 service in which Wan Hai Lines has deployed four vessels, following a port rotation of Port Klang, Pasir Gudang, Singapore-Gaolan, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe and Keelung.
ZICT(G) has excellent transport links to areas along the Xijiang River and the Beibu Gulf of Guangxi and is the only natural deep-water port in the western Pearl River Delta, said a company statement. The commencement of Wan Hai Lines' NS3 service will not only benefit Zhuhai clients, but also the western Pearl River Delta hinterlands through intermodal networks.
