US economic growth index shows highest rating in more than 3 years
PROSPECTS US economic growth increased last week to its highest point in more than three years, while the annualised growth rate improved to its highest point in more than a month, according to the Economic Cycle Research Institute.
The New York-based independent forecasting group said its Weekly Leading Index rose to 131.8 in the week ended August 2, reported Reuters, This was the highest point since May 2010, and from 131.7 the previous week.
The index's annualised growth rate climbed to 5.3 per cent, the highest level since late June, from 4.9 per cent a week earlier.
