CHINA's powerful National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), told US corporate executives that Beijing is determined to broaden access for foreign businesses, reported Hong Kong's South China Morning Post.
Gao Jian, a deputy director with the international cooperation department of the NDRC, told more than 90 representatives of US companies in Shanghai that Beijing was determined to broaden access for foreign businesses to tap the vast market.
'Enshrined by the principles of openness, cooperation, solidarity and mutual benefit, China is unswervingly opening up the market broadly, to make it a market that can be shared with businesses from all around the world,' said NDRC deputy director Gao Jian.
Mr Gao told American that they are 'a quintessential part' of the country's development, amid escalating tensions between the world's two largest economies.
Beijing's statement came after smartphone maker Xiaomi and the US Government reached an agreement to remove the company from Trump administration's blacklist that bars US investment in nine Chinese tech giants.
