UNI-TOP Airlines has started flying a Boeing 747-400 cargo aircraft from Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei province, to Luxembourg every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The inaugural flight was loaded with electronic components, auto parts and garments. Its maximum carrying capacity is 110 tonnes, reported Xinhua News.
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport already offers freight services to Chicago, Incheon in South Korea and Belgium's Liege.
Airport authorities hope the new route will boost e-commerce between Hubei and Europe. In addition, they aim to open more routes to countries along One Belt and One Road (Obor).
