U-Ming has entered into a USD 46.8m worth shipbuilding
contract with Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for the construction of
four 186,000 dwt capsize bulk carriers. The delivery is scheduled to
start in 2015, according to SinoShip news portal.Waigaoqiao has on its delivery list two 206,000 dwt bulkers and four
186,000 dwt bulkers previously ordered by U-Ming which will be delivered until the end of 2014.U-Ming Marine Transport ranks as Taiwan’s largest bulk shipping
company operating with a highly diversified fleet. The company owns and
operates a total of 45 vessels with a total of 5.18m dwt including 11
bulk carriers under construction. The company has made a foray into
VLCCs too.
