The Turkish ship Iskenderum, with 22 Bulgarian refugees onboard, has started from Libyan port of Benghazi.
This was announced by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based on information from the Turkish Crisis Center.
The ship is expected within some 30 hours in the Turkish port of Marmaris. There the Bulgarian nationals will be taken care of by Bulgarian dipolmats.
Earlier the Foreign Affairs Ministry had announced that as many as 50 Bulgarians registered for the Turkish ship, after the Turks generously offered help in evacuating people from violence ridden Libya.
