Turkish Ferry "Aegean Queen" detained in Rhodes after engine problem
On Sep 24, 2014, the "Aegean Queen" suffered a mechanical failure of the main engine while leaving the port of Rhodes with 125 passengers on board. The ferry remained in port and was detained for a class survey, the passengers were disembarked and taken in care of the shipping company.
More specifically yesterday afternoon informed the Central Port of Rhodes by the representative of the ship «AEGEAN QUEEN» Turkey flag that the ship had been a mechanical failure.
Specifically, when the ship leaves the port of Rhodes to perform the planned itinerary to Fethiye Turkey failed driveline left main engine. The «AEGEAN QUEEN» after prosedese certainly landed safely the 125 passengers who were promoted in their care of the shipping company.
From the Central Port Rhodes refused to leave the ship until reparations and presentation confirmatory conservation by attending class classification society.
