Three anchored vessels broke off their moorings at the dock of Dingpo Feng and were beached by a storm with wind force 11 about 0,2 miles off the coast of southern Kaohsiung in the evening of June 14, 2018. Both the 'Shine Luck' and the '19 Winner' grounded at the Linyan Garden and the Beidi Beach in Fengbitou. The Coast Guard allerted the Marine Patrol department Feng Nai Head and the Linyuan Fire Rescue The 14 Indian crew members of the latter were evacuated onto the shore with ropes and taken to Feng NBai and accomodated in a hotel in the Yancheng District by their shipping company. After 17 of the 18 men from Burma and Indonessia were taken off the 'Shine Luck', which had anchore since one month off the Zhongmengkeng Beach, with a mobile crane, one crew member, the Indonesian sailor Laode Saharun, which had remained on board jumped overboard and swam ashore, fearing the ship’s imminent sinking. Both tankers had a cargo of fuel on board, and the authorities feared possible leaks. A third ship which broke lose, the 'Mariner Lauder', was floating 02 miles off the northern embankment of the Fengroutou fishing port but was able to manoever off the rocks. A boat of the Kaoshioung Sea Patrol had to return to port due to the typhoon like conditions. The deployment of helicopters of the Air Transport Corps had to be aborted by the same reasons.
