Technomar, a shipping company based in Greece, has ordered a
pair of containerships from Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction
shipyard in the Subic Bay, the Philippines, SeaShipNews reports.The order for 6,900 teu vessels comes with an option for two more of
the same type. Allegedly, the vessels will be equipped with eco-friendly features.What is more, the vessels will have ultra-long-stroke MAN B&W
G-type engines, and they should be more fuel- efficient than their
precursors from 2011.The delivery of vessels is scheduled for 2015.The vessels’ price, estimated by shipbrokers, amounts to $63.5 million each.
