Swire Shipping receives prestigious Liner Owner-Operator Award
SWIRE Shipping, the liner trade division of the China Navigation Company (CNCo), has been presented with the prestigious Liner Owner/Operator Award 2013 award at the annual Seatrade Asia awards ceremony in Hong Kong.
These annual awards recognise achievements in the Asian shipping industry. The accolade was judged based on innovative customer service delivery, network service development and schedule.
"Swire Shipping was very pleased to receive this award which recognises our commitment to being a leading provider of sustainable shipping solutions and our customers' partner of choice," said the company statement.
This award follows on from the Liner Trade and New Generation awards presented by Lloyd's List Australia in 2012 and the Safety Award at the Lloyd's List Asia Awards received late last year. Furthermore, the latest honour validates the company's commitment towards promoting continuous improvement, innovation, and health and safety in all areas of operation.
The China Navigation Company (CNCo) is the wholly owned, deep-sea shipowning and operating arm of the Swire group. Since the company was founded in 1872 in Shanghai and started its operations trading on China's Yangtze River, it has expanded globally, though its primary operational focus remains in the Asia-Pacific region.
The company operates a global network of multi-purpose liner services for the transportation of containerised, breakbulk, heavylift and project cargo in addition to providing drybulk and bulk logistics services.
Swire Shipping operates multiple liner trades in chiefly New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the South Pacific, Europe and North America.
