SWIRE SHIPPING, the liner trade division of The China Navigation Company (CNCo), has been presented with the "Ship Owner/Operator Award 2014" award at the annual Seatrade Asia awards ceremony in Singapore.
This award, won by Swire for the second consecutive year, was judged on the basis of innovative customer service delivery, network service development and commitment to the environment.
"Swire Shipping was very pleased to receive this award which further recognises our commitment to being a leading provider of sustainable shipping solutions and our customers' partner of choice," said a company press release.
The China Navigation Company (CNCo) is the wholly owned, deep-sea shipowning and operating arm of the Swire group. CNCo was founded in 1872 in Shanghai and started its operations trading on the Yangtze River.
Since then the company has expanded globally while its primary operational focus remains in the Asia-Pacific region. The company operates a global network of multi-purpose liner services for the transportation of containerised, breakbulk, heavylift and project cargoes in addition to providing drybulk and bulk logistics services.
Swire Shipping operates multiple liner trades, servicing its core trading area of New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the South Pacific and extending to Europe and North America.
Swire Shipping's versatile fleet of multipurpose ships is capable of carrying a wide range of general, unitised cargoes (including heavy and bulky project lifts), break-bulk parcels (steel, forest products), bulk parcels, as well as containerised cargoes (general and refrigerated).
