RUSSIA's Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg CJSC (CTSP) handled 758,610 TEU in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 5.1 per cent.
Imports were up 6.1 per cent year on year to 369,650 TEU, including 82,980 TEU of laden reefer containers. Exports totalled 388,960 TEU, up 4.1 per cent, reported Hellenic Shipping News.
In 2019, CTSP registered 483 calls with average ship load of 1,571 TEU.
Shipments by railway transport accounted for 22.7 per cent of the total throughput due to its well-developed railway infrastructure.
CTSP retained its throughput leadership position among Russian container terminals, with a market share in the ports of Russia of 14 per cent, as well as a 33 per cent stake in the ports of St Petersburg and Ust-Luga.
