Sri Lanka welcomes manned lay-ups of ships in designated anchorages
THE Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has welcomed the laying-up of ships at anchorages of designated commercial ports, reports GAC Hot Port News.
As vessels must be safely manned due to being laid up at open anchorages, subject to prevailing weather conditions, no cold lay-ups will be permitted, said the port authority.
Manning shall be as per approvals of the respective flag states and SLPA approval must be obtained.
