SOUTH Korea ports has marked record growth for container throughput of 4.7 per cent in April and second consecutive month it cleared 1.90 million TEU, made possible by a spike in transshipments, said the government.
Of the 1.93 million TEU handled at the country's ports, its largest port of Busan took the lion's share at 1.48 million TEU, up 8.2 per cent from April 2011. Transshipments through the country increased to around 758,000 TEU, a surge of 18.3 per cent year on year.
