SHIPS navigating north of Hong Kong International Airport on Hong Kong Lantau Island should proceed with caution at a slow speed because of archaeological divers working in the area for the next two weeks.
Specifically, a marine archaeological survey involving diving operations will be carried out in the following locations (WGS 84 Datum): A) 22 deg. 19.390'N / 113 deg. 55.729'E, B) 22 deg. 19.312'N / 113 deg. 55.491'E and C) 22 deg. 18.746'N / 113 deg. 53.532'E.
The survey works will be carried out by a work boat in one location at any one time. A working area of 50 metres around the work boat will be established. Diving operations will be carried out from time to time.
The hours of work will be from 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs. The work boat engaged in the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work, said the Hong Kong Marine Department.
